Anybody here from the UK like to give me a steer onto UK-based sites for 0n3/30?

I guess that terrytwofoot might be the man here, but I've not seen him post for a while.....

TIA

I have no knowledge of any such sites, but there are two real groups that may be of interest;-

Slim Gauge Circle (also has a Yahoo! group associated with it). Primarily for UK modellers of American Narrow gauge (all scales/gauges welcome) has met at Bilton twice a year for past 20 years or so.

7mm Narrow Gauge Association, I'm not  a member but occasionally visit local group shows. Primarily UK based, but increasing number of members run Bachmann On30.

Thank you both.  Seems to me that with the interest shown over in UK, and the great layouts that I've seen - the circular layouts - one that has a logging camp and the much larger other one with big grades and trestles - that there just SHOULD be a site accessible to everyone - me and Yahoo do NOT get on.

I've got a bunch of Bachmann's great models in this scale, but so far lack the incentive to do anything about it as I have the same models in Fn3.

If anybody in the UK lives near me in rural Cambs/Northants, please let me know - we might fix a meet-up?

Are you talking about Camp 93? (http://www.rdmrc.nildram.co.uk/Camp93.htm before it was extended)

I have operated on that layout a few times as I'm a member of the R&DMRC, but have also been modelling in On30 for about 4 years now.

If you want to know places to buy On30, I recommend EDM models (http://www.ngtrains.com/) and On30Trains (http://www.on30trains.co.uk/Default.asp).

I have started work on a website for my layout, but I can understand why others would not have the time to keep one running.

Dear max [uk] thanks for responding.  Nossir, Your fine-looking layout is neither of the two circular modules I've seen here in UK.  And thank you for the links, but I buy all my train stuff in Canada/USA when we are over home a couple of times a year.  The prices here in UK are enough to make your eyes bleed.

Oh, its not my layout, just wondered if you have seen it because it has been to alot of exhibitions in the UK over the years.

I know what you mean by the prices, On30 trains import their stock from the US and pass on the savings, so it saves me from having to order from the states myself.

I ran across this On30 layout from the Crawley Model Railway Society.  Very nicely done, if you take a look at the links to their photos.

Now THAT is simply fantastic!

As I'm getting old and tired, I'm looking to buy a small layout that some clever person has already built.  I already have a decent selection of locos and rolling stock...all Bachmann, of course.
