I have a Bachmann Spectrum GE DASH 8 40C and a Walthers GE DASH 8 40BW.  They appear pretty similar..my question is can I use the 100% synthetic lube that I have used on my Marklin trains for years OR is another more compatible lubricant recommended for lubricating these locos?

Don't know a reason why you couldn't.

I use oil for metal parts like bearings and shafts and grease that has Teflon in it for gears (both plastic and metal).
