is the new paegus locomotive a good set. will the hieght of the smokestack interfear with the tunnels, and does it have moveable parts
Sorry, 11, but I am not familiar with a paegus locomotive, nor is the product search engine. I will try to answer your questions:
(1) ?? I am left wondering what a locomotive might be a set of.
(2) The height of the smokestack should not interfere with tunnels that are built to NMRA track and wheel gauge clearance.
(3) The motor, the gears and the wheels all move, of course. What other parts were you wondering about?

I think you mean the "Pegasus" Train Set. Bachmann carries this set ($130 retail). I have seen it at my LHS, but have heard nothing on how the engine runs. I would say the engine is very small, with only a few wheels available for current pick up. So don't look for particularly smooth running. But it would be a great display piece for one's shelf, if you want to have a little railroad history in your train room. I would love to do that, but I can't afford everything...

My LHS had one and it does not run well just like the 4-4-0 American, the John Bull, and the Dewitt Clinton, but these are good display pieces just not good for running on the layout. The less drive wheels and pick-up wheels, the poorer it will run. That is why the DC American isn't very good because the tender doesn't pick up.
If I had to rate them... American>John Bull>Dewitt Clinton=Pegasus
They just aren't very reliable runners. But the Richmond 4-4-0 is partially because of the extra pick up from the tender, and the overall better quality, it runs 1000 times better than the old-time American.
