Title: Setting Motor Control Values
Post by: 130MM on October 14, 2009, 04:23:49 PM
I recently tried to use NCE's PowerCab to match loco speeds of a Bachmann SD-45 to other locomotives. I changed the value for the starting voltage, mid voltage and max voltage. But no matter what I set them to, the loco would start to move at the exact same throttle setting. I did check to see if the entered values had been saved, and they had. I went so far to set the starting voltage to 245, the mid voltage to 250 and the max voltage to 255 to see if anything different happened. But the loco moved at the same throttle setting. Also set them to 10, 20 and 30 with no change.

Any suggestions?

Which decoder does your locomotive have in it?  If it is the one at the link below, then it does not support CV05 and CV06 and CV02 has a range from 0 to 31.

Could it have a different decoder installed?  Perhaps one that includes a speed table?  If so, the speed table may be turned on, which turns of CV's 02, 05 and 06.

Just a couple of thoughts for you.
