Title: Direction of more than one train
Post by: ZXEH on March 04, 2010, 11:07:12 AM
I am new to Model Trains.  My grandson loves them.  We were given a 4-6-0 Set from Bass Pro.  It looks like North Pole set.  We also have Thomas and Percy.  The new set runs the opposite direction on the track.  Is there a way I can change the polarization or something without having to change the connection wire each time?  In other words, can I get them to run the same way in tandem?

Thomas and Percy are wired wrong , for Large Scale.
This was noticed a while back.   ::)

POLARITY

For those that have yet to notice, Thomas is wired to be NMRA Standard S-9 polarity compliant.

Now why did Bachmann do that?

It will be a simple matter to reverse the power wires attached to the motor to convert to Large Scale polarity should polarity be an issue.

Your 4-6-0 has a switch behind the boiler front. If you switch it from LS to NMRA the loco will run the sam way as Percy & Thomas!
