Title: Bachmann Metroliner
Post by: Jacary27 on February 06, 2007, 01:43:16 PM
I have a set of the Metroliners from my father.  He claims to have never run them.  However I can't for the life of me get the powered one to run.  Seems like the gears don't line up.  I know I can send it into Bachmann to get it fixed no problem.  I didn't know if I could update the guts of it because eventually I would like to convert it to DCC.  I didn't know if another powered chassis would fit.   Any help would be great.

Adam:
Unfortunately, Bachmann no longer makes the Metroliner, and chances are slim they still have the parts to repair it. Best to look around at various train shows and see if you can find one that runs and swap out the chassis.
Best of luck,
John Loesch

I contacted the service department and they said to send it in even though they didn't make it anymore.  I don't know what they would do to fix it.  I didn't know if a different engines chassis would fit under the shell.

Northwest Shortline & Precision Scale make/made a self powered truck.  That may also be a solution.
