Title: Shell Removal - Dash-9 & U33C
Post by: jgs5000 on March 11, 2011, 02:23:26 PM
I am trying to remove the shell on these two engines.  The directions say to remove remove two screws in the front corner of the frame and two screws in front of the rear truck.  I have done this but the frame is not loose and I don't want to force it.  There are two other screws at the bottom of each frame but there is no mention of these in the directions.  Any help would be welcomed.

If it is like the Williams SD-45's, you have to remove two screws from the frame by the forward set of wheels and two screws by the rear set of wheels from the frame. Look underneath to see how many screws are on the bottom at the frame, there might be a total of six screws-if it is like an MTH SD-45.
Some GP-7's & GP-9's have screws at the front and rear of the shell just above the knuckle coupler.
