Title: Buzzing Decapod
Post by: Mark Damien on June 25, 2007, 08:22:28 PM
Hi All,

I have four Russian Decapods; one from the first batch, & three bought over the last 18 months. The three newer ones all have Buzzing motors when running foreward. They are all 'DCC ready', so no chip fitted.

I am currently using a Bachmann Magnum DC throttle, but it also occurs on an H&M [smooth] DC as well.

When enough power is supplied to turn the wheels, the motor hums & buzzes, sort of a Waw-Waw-waw sound. this buzzing continues no matter what speed it is run, although the faster you go, the quieter it is; though still audiable. It initially buzzes in reverse, but this stops when the wheels are moving continuously from very low speeds.

Has anyone encountered this problem before, & more importantly, solved it?

I think this was mentioned on the old Bachmann message board, Alas.
