Title: Removing an RS3 cab
Post by: vingong on September 25, 2015, 03:59:31 PM
Hi, I just purchased a New York Central RS-3. I squeezed the cab a bit too hard so one set of windows got pushed inside. I removed the shell only to find the cab is a separate enclosure. I couldn't figure out how to remove the cab. Has anyone removed the cab from the RS3 before? Thanks.

Here is the link to the parts diagram. On the bottom cab is a tab on both sides of the front and back by each corner as well as on each side of the cab part that goes over the shell. Turn the shell over and push on each of the bottom tabs with a small screw driver to loosen the cab. Then push on the tabs in the side of the shell. Do one side and put a toothpick between the cab and shell. Do the other side and lift off the cab. Do it gently to prevent braking anything. If it looks like the cab was glued on, put the shell in a freezer bag and put in the freezer overnight. This helps loosen the glue.  Joe

Had the same issue, your advice was the solution.  Thanks from me also.
