Title: 12 Volts
Post by: Mr. C on April 22, 2016, 08:44:50 AM
I am running DCC command with a 5 amp power booster and when I check my track voltage it is only approx 9 volts. Why not 12?

What system? Some have settings for N,HO, and O scales which will put out different voltages.  Joe

Agreed.

We have this problem, all the time, at the club.  Somehow our boosters get switched to "N" by accident from time-to-time.  The 12 volt output is just enough so no one notices until multiple trains are running.  The "HO" output should run from 14-16 volts.  Which should be plenty for multiple trains.

Regards,

Jonathan

All other things being as they should be --  around 7 volts indicates there is no DCC signal from the E-Z Command Control Center. Remember DCC is a high frequency AC square waveform.
