Title: EZ Command & JMRI
Post by: TexasRailroader on December 26, 2016, 09:18:08 AM
It should not be a stretch that since PC/Laptops and the EZ Command DCC control station both have an ethernet port that EZ Command could communicate with JMRI.

Any chance there could be some progress in that area?
I understand that Lenz makes the EZ Command for Bachmann and Lenz already interfaces with JMRI.

Much more than a stretch --- it requires replacement of the E-Z Command Control Center.

JMRI DecoderPro cannot be used with a Bachmann E-Z Command Control Center as it does not have a PC interface.  The E-Z Command Control Center port does not use a PC interface protocol.

The EZ Command is very old school. About twelve years old. I believe I saw a review in December 2004 Model Railroader and long overdue for a replacement system that can work with a PC and JMRI.

Seems like a simple update of the DCC Control Module would be in order.
