Was wondering if anyone could tell me when Bachmann produced the Great Northern Express set in the Big Hauler line and what the cost was at the time?

This was a very nice set and was introduced in late 1999. It remained inn the catalog until 2002. It was among the first sets where the locomotive was equipped with the latest Version 5 chassis. The version 5 chassis was extremely reliable when properly cared for and has remained the standard chassis in sets even now. The MSRP for this set was $300, but the price point at most hobby shops was about $190.
