Title: 2017 releases
Post by: TrainCollector on August 19, 2017, 02:08:04 AM
Since James' redesign is coming out unannounced and the Spiteful Brakevan in Large Scale is just the old brakevan with a face does anyone know when they're coming out? Hope we can figure this out soon

A repaint for James has not officially been announced.

Bachmann has been unusually slow with the new products that got announced this year.  They haven't added any of the new products in their online store nor officially revealed prices or any update in the NMRA PDF.  It can't be because of anything from last year holding them back since the only thing left is Rheneas, who is supposedly going to be released by the end of this month.  It's very strange, and I would like to know when these will be listed soon because I would like to eventually preorder Rusty at some point, despite probably being pushed back to 2018.

Alright, posts like this are honestly getting old.  Mr. TrainCollector, we don't need new threads for every little thing.  This has been discussed several times to several people, but we seem to get nowhere.  Once again this is a post that could have been made in the Thomas and Friends in 2018 thread, but obviously that didn't happen.  Threads like this never go anywhere and instead clutter up the forum.  It's annoying to many users (myself included) who log on to get updates on what's going on with the Bachmann Thomas & Friends range, and instead have to sort through clutter like this and gather false information like were "SUPPOSEDLY" getting a redesigned Bachmann James.  Again, it's annoying.

While we're on the topic of a redesigned James though, I'm also going to throw in my 2 cents as well.  Everyone keeps asking for a redesign, but what you're all falling to understand is that if Bachmann corrects the paint errors on the model, then they're also going to update the face as well so James looks more like his CGI counterpart.  If that happens, then we'll have to listen to everyone whine about the new James just as we did when Diesel came into the HO range with a CGI face.  I guarantee the same could be said about the Thomas and Percy models.

Lastly, as Chaz pointed out in his post, Bachmann has indeed been slow with information on their 2017 announcements.  As much as I too want to hear news on what's going on in the HOn30 and Large Scale ranges, I'm not making new threads all the time about it.  I'll end on that note since I'm sure someone's going to call me out now and claim that I'm such a mean person for reprimanding someone...

A CGI face would be miles better than... whatever this is

Tbh I think majority of the 2017 announcements will be pushed yo 2018 and the 2018 - 2019 ect seems to be the way bachmann works at the moment. But its a game of patience's as I view it as no news is good news and there never been a statement saying planned products to be canceled. As for James redesign i agree this was from the same video they stated no plans for bachmann oliver... Few years later we have oliver and no James nothing was official to begin with. Lastly James was made very early on in bachmanns modeling of Thomas models. Yes there's flaws but flaws can be fixed. Personally I think out of the three original models James was produced the best. I found him easier to make TV accurate a lot easier then I did with Thomas and Percy. There's my two cents too.

My gosh you didn't have to go that far Plow Bender I was simply making a statement. By the way yeah that was kinda rude! If I wanna make a statement I'm going to make a statement. I don't care if the new threads annoy you. I didn't know other people were doing it and you attack me as if I'm the one causing the problem. You know there is something simple about threads that people make. You don't like it? Don't comment simple as that! You're not perfect and neither am I so don't attack me on something so rediculous!

I contacted Bachmann about the delay in getting the 2017 items uploaded to the website and they said prices had not been set yet so they weren't adding them until then.
