Title: Colour 18' boxcars
Post by: dutchbuilder on September 17, 2017, 03:27:31 PM
When you look in the shop there are two distinct colours for the 18' boxcars , oxide red and ..wait for it...oxide red.
One is brown and the other one is more redbrown.
Are there paint numbers available for these colours?
And then i don't mean colour discriptions but real colour numbers.

tnx yardmaster
That is just what i don't want to know.
it is a description of a colour.
What i need is a colour standard number.
I don't know what kind off colour standard you use in the USA but here in the Netherlands we mostly use the RAL standard.
I think the oxide red complies with RAL3009 but i am not shure.

Dear Ton,
When I build prototype models I use a variety of colors, usually from commercial spray cans.
In the USA there are several brands of paint: Krylon, Rust-o-leum, and others.
Most have an oxide primer in the line, and these are what I use.
The colors are matched at the factory.
Have fun!
