Title: Noisy Bachman Santa Fe Engine
Post by: monte1000 on October 01, 2017, 08:48:22 PM
I have a Bachman Santa Fe Engine.  It is very noisy and sounds like grinding gears.  Is there anyway of fixing this?  Thanks very much.

Anything can be fixed but it helps to know which "Santa Fe" engine itbis.

If it sounds like grinding gears that could be what it is.  Take the shell off and lubricate gears with a light grease meant for models.  If the engine sat idle for a very long time, like Christmas trains often do, old grease could be congealed on the gears, which would first have to be cleaned off.
