Title: bachmann s-2
Post by: indian_hills_r_r on October 30, 2017, 10:59:03 PM
I just purchased a Bachmann also s-2  CP dcc ready loco. the problem I am having is how to remove the shell so I can put in a decoder. the manuals/paperwork included with it DO NOT explain or tell a person how to remove the shell. can someone tell me if 1. there are some screws that need to be removed first. or 2. is it some clips that have to be pressed.

Dear IHRR,
Check the exploded diagram that ccame with your loco.
I don't have one here, but the screws are probably under the fuel tank.
Have fun!

On the S-2 and/or S-4:

Remove the screws that hold the coupler pockets.  Slide out the coupler pockets.  The shell can now be lifted from the frame.

First time is usually a little sticky.
