I am buying an EM-1 from an individual...I will want to add sound to the decoder...I understand that Bachmann makes an "add on" sound decoder for this locomotive....is that true?
SoundTraxx makes a plug in proprietary 21-pin socket sound module (not decoder) sold by Bachmann for the HO scale EM-1 but not for N scale.
A SoundTraxx sound decoder and speaker can be hard wired in the N scale EM-1.

Click Here (http://www.soundtraxx.com/documents/appnotes/bachmann_n_em1.pdf) This is what is required to hard wire decoder. You will not use the TSU-750 decoder but your choice of either a SoundTraxx TSU-1100 or ECO-100 decoder. Ignore any CV setting pertaining to the TSU-750.
I have sound in mine from a TSU-750. It sounds awesome.
