Title: Program Sterns Heisler 2 truck steam loco for directional lighting
Post by: Tom_C on December 30, 2017, 01:32:26 PM
Seems by default the headlight and rear light come on all the time.  Would like to make lighting directional based on forward or reverse direction.  What are the CVs and settings to do that?  BTW, I have the sound module installed if that makes a difference.

Also can't seem to find the programming guide for this engine.  Anyone have a link to it?

You want to program CV 33 to 1 and CV 34 to 2.

The default for both is 3, which activates front and rear together.

Here's the CV list for the On30 Heisler:

By the looks of the model there is no electric light.
So the lanterns burn all the time.

Yes, I think you're right.  There are other lights in the package for other lights.  I'm not really interested in being accurate to the model, I use these as a holiday layout with automated control so I'm only looking for atmosphere.

Is the headlight capable of being dimmed?  I see CV 49-50 shows configuration for dimable lights, but I can't seem to figure out how to enable it.

I'd like to dim the light all the time without using a function key, is that possible?
