Title: 4 6 0 to MTH DCS conversion
Post by: Suncoasttrains on January 01, 2018, 08:15:14 PM
:o.  So I have been looking for a steam loco G scale to convert to MTH DCS.  I picked an anniversary 4 6 0 with metal siderods at the tampa train show.
I ran it on my MTH layout in conventional mode thinking there's no way this thing can haul my coal train up a 3 % grade or haul my passenger train. But it did.  Very impressed.. it's not much different than an MTH Hudson.
Anyway I noticed movement in the rear axle and pulled the bottom cover off to ck it. I put it back on and next time I ran it no power nothing.. dead.. turns out there are 2 tiny plugs from all the pickups t hat plug into the motor leads. Plugged them back in and it's fine. Looking forward to runningbit in DCS.

I had that same thing happen with the annie chassis I recently installed.  I removed the two switches in at the rear of the cab, too when I did my Revolution train engineer installation.
