Title: Classic Toy Trains Ad
Post by: Mike_AA9ZY on March 22, 2008, 08:59:44 PM
I just got my latest issue of CTT and love those new WBB engines, especially the Penn Central ones.

Mr. Bachmann, I would love to see an F-3 pair in Milwaukee Road orange and black. Also, I think you would sell a bunch in Chicago Great Western Red/Purple, at least in the midwest.  ;D

Seems to be that they are making the first yellow bonnets in O guage?

I don't know if the ad was touched up, but those engines looked better than some Williams engines I've seen at train shows. I'm very pleased with the On30 engines that Bachmann sells, so I can't wait to see some pictures in the photo gallery :D

If I can sell off a number of other train items (various scales) between now and the time those F-units are available, I plan to get both the blue and yellow Warbonnet versions.  Very attractive and I've long been a big fan of the rugged simplicity of Williams products.

So, can we expect a review of the new WBB engines in an upcoming issue of OGR? ;D

Well, I certainly won't rule it out (publishing a review, that is).  If I'm able to save up enough $ to purchase both sets, I'll surely be willing to give some thought to doing a comprehensive review of those locomotives.  I've long been a big fan of Williams products (and Bachmann's On30 and Large Scale lines), and these attractive O gauge offerings definitely caught my eye.

I agree with you about the On30 stuff. That's what got me interested in O in the first place. It's reasonably priced, looks nice, and runs well. What more could one ask?

I would love to see Bachmann do a "Fallen Flag" series with the F-7 engines. There are several colorful fallen flag railroads that could be very popular (Milw Rd, CGW, RI, Monon, etc.) Also, I would love to see them offer O gauge versions of their GE 44 ton and 70 engines.

Anyway, I look forward to the new WBB engines just like I look forward to each treasured issue of OGR!
