Title: Davenport Adjust Decoder maximum speed
Post by: Almkotter on April 23, 2008, 10:09:22 AM
I would like to adjust the maximum speed of my Davenport. How do I do that?
Your 1_Amp_Decoder_Instr.pdf document tells me that the decoder has 28 speed steps and an internal speedline. The decoder can de used immediately on purchase with these basic configurations. All configurations can, of course, be changed.

I tried to adjust CV 66, tried 67 thru 94 after setting CV29 bit 4. No luck. It still goes like a bullet.

Can it be done ?

I had a similar problem with the Bachmann decoder in a Forney. With this decoder (and it may be a unique problem to this particular decoder) I found that I had far better control - started at a lower speed step and better control after that if I switched to 128 step mode in rthe command station. That is with an MRC PA2 wireless system, but the reaction was similar with a Digitrax Zephyr unit.
