Title: 0-4-0 Ely-Thomas Saddle Tank Porter Lubrication Help
Post by: GovB on August 13, 2008, 11:31:47 PM
Recently purchased (new-in-the-box) an Ely-Thomas 0-4-0 Saddle Tank Porter (#82098) but didn't find any lubrication instructions in the box. Did find wiring and assembly drawings. There also isn't a lube port in the bottom like the other Bachmann locos I own. Is this a design goof? Are the internal gears supposed to be lubed? Don't want to crack it open unless I have too. I would appreciate your help.

Thanks, GovB ???

Dear Gov,
Use light gear oil on the valve gear, heavy oil on the axles, and conductive lube on the wheel tread and backs. If it needs grease, remove the bottom plate.
Have fun!
