Title: 13 years old. problem with ho Daylight
Post by: 13yearoldsteamlover on October 24, 2008, 10:11:50 PM
Hi I'm 13 years old and have an HO layout.  I recieved a Daylight from my parents for Christmas last year.  Its the commemoritive one from the 80's with its story and a fancy box, well anyways I was running it last winter and it all of the sudden screached to a hault and let out foul smelling smoke.  It has not worked since, so I dissembled the thing and threw ou the old motor and cleaned and reasembled the running gear and everything else.  I have a new motor. How do I install it? and how do I prevent it from doing this again? Thanks! Have a nice day! and how do i properly care for my steamers.  they seem to always break or burn out but my diesels work fine. and to Guilford Guy the motor is the white one with the two metal probes sticking out.

The old Bachmann's were known to be bad runners. What motor did you get? Bowser makes replacement chassis, which if assembled right, run excellently.
