Title: Southern Pacific Passenger cars
Post by: joseph dipatri on March 03, 2009, 08:49:38 PM
Can someone please tell me if Bachmann makes a passenger car that is painted in the SP Daylight scheme.

Is the paint on the GS 4 as bright and well done as it appears in the catalogue.

Thank you,
Joe

I know they came in Williams in 15" AL.  But SP NEVER had a GS with a number "4949".  Now 4449 still stays arounf Portland OR.....

Hi Dominic,

The 2008 catalog used an old photo.  The number had been corrected to 4449 at least two production runs ago.

Here is a shot of our most recent production run with the 4449 cab number.

That is one good looking engine.
Curious is the tender die cast or palstic?

Thanks

Does it have the stars on the axles?

Joe,

The Loco is die-cast.   The tender has a plastic body with die-cast trucks.

Dominic,

No it does not have starts on the axles.

I jsut received a GS-4 in Daylight colors, and am not to happy with the orange paint color, it is a very odd orange, and a lot different from my cars.  But Daylight is pretty sharp , even when the colors don't match.   Don
