I don't want to be the stingy person here, but, please control your smileys. Using too many smileys takes up space, and kind of overrides what your trying to say, well what I'm trying to say is it attracts all the attention to them. And, for your next post after that, try not to double post, that's what Modify at the bottom of post is for. Not trying to be rude, just saying it. But, every newbie does it.

AAH, I can't plan nothing. It's on Mother's Day. I'll try to visit the local museum for awhile in celebration, maybe run trains. Watch train videos, get into the train spirit, and do everything I can train-related. I almost forgot, thanks for posting this.

Title: Re: National Train Day on May 9, 2009(WOW!!!!)

Alright, I'm back. First i went to the roundhouse and the steamer was not there. And i had no luck at Wendy park. Then at 2:30 i went to berea. My dad and I got stopped at a rta station to watch a passing train as soon as that left yet another came! So i waited and taped. As it began to end yet another came!(Note: this is the NS chicago line and this part has 3 tracks) So all the lines were full! :o We get to Berea and it was almost like New york city traffic!(no offense) Your average stuff till about 4:00. 2 CSX diesels were coming so i headed to the east bound one. I fell when running(lol)but I got a rare grain train and was being hauled by 2 older CSX EMD SD40-2 diesels! And the other was a intermodel. But the best part was about 5:00-5:15 when these two dash 8s were trying to be steam engines.(smoke show) and as soon as i was about to get my cam corder off my dad's car, I saw a Illinois central 6 truck Pullman coach! No joke! I picked my camera up and followed it as much as possible till a CSX diesel got in the way :(. I stayed at Berea for another 30 minutes and left. This is the best train day for me ever! ;D

How about you guys? :P

It appears National Train day will be the 2nd Saturday of May (May 10th- Completion of Transcontinental Railroad)
If you are in a city that day, and see lots of different colored balloons or a long line of people, they are also part of the celebration. I went into Boston on Saturday and hung out for a while talking about the future of MBTA...
