What decoder wire is connected to what and its purpose is covered by the decoder's wring diagram. Rely only on the wiring diagram for the decoder you are installing. Do not use assume.

All Bachmann locomotives with factory installed sound decoders are configured dual mode.  If yours are not they were changed after they left the factory.

What is the value of CV 12 and CV 29? (CV 28 is not a supported CV for Bachmann factory equipped DCC decoders.)

Count the number of times the headlight flashes before it repeats the pattern.

Some examples,

10 is  Over-Voltage Fault - An over-voltage fault indicates that the track voltage is greater than 22 volts. This error sometimes occurs around 19 volts.

16 is CVs Reset to Default  This code is informational only and indicates that all CVs have been reset to their factory defaults.

Key is the number of Function Outputs the decoder supports not the interface number of wiring harness pins.  Operating Ditch lights use two of the available Function Outputs.

An aside ----

Caution: After adding capacitors for motor keep alive to decoders not designed for it you may encounter programming and false short-circuit glitches.

The factory installed decoder does not support CVs required for speed matching.

Click Here This is what is required to hard wire decoder.  You will not use the TSU-750 decoder but your choice of either a SoundTraxx TSU-1100 or ECO-100 decoder. Ignore any CV setting pertaining to the TSU-750.

SoundTraxx makes a plug in proprietary 21-pin socket sound module (not decoder) sold by Bachmann for the HO scale EM-1 but not for N scale.

Anyone considering Digitrax --- take into account the  Zephyr DCS50 was discontinued  in 2010 and replaced with the Digitrax Zephyr Xtra DCS51.

That small gap is not an issue and will not be there if you build the plan.

AnyRail is like all CAD track plan programs, the geometry is precise.  It does not account for the flex/play at track connections.

Is the Dynamis a discontinued item ?

Bachmann UK some time ago introduced and began offering the Dynamis Ultima that replaces both Dynamis and Dynamis Pro Box and has additional features.

Bachmann USA does not offer the Dynamis Ultima. Bachmann USA offers Dynamis and its add-on Dynamis Pro Box.

Yes - "switch" is correctly being used in this thread.

However, some use switch when referring to turnout.

Using the word "switch" when referring to a "turnout" is incorrect but it is common to see switch incorrectly used.

When an informed real railroad person refers to a switch, they are referring to a component of a turnout and appropriately using the word.  Also, turnout is not just a model railroading term as mistakenly believed by unformed.

Turnout a few real world examples,

Bachmann correctly labels a turnout as turnout that some incorrectly refers to as switch, as Bachmann did until it was called to H. Lee Riley's attention over a decade ago.
