Remove locomotive shell. Locate, pull off and reseat one at a time the black plastic clip holding in place each of the two wires connecting the motor to the circuit board. Be sure the bare end of the wire is in good contact with the solder pad on the circuit board before and when replacing the clip.

Test run before replacing the shell.

You can substitute any length regular E-Z Track section for the "B-B" track sections and bumpers or not use them as they are not part of the auto-reversing circuit.  Add auto-reversing track sections to  increase the length of the auto-reversing run.
40  Discussion Boards / General Discussion / Re: Useing a power pack with nE-Z Comand on: November 14, 2017, 12:08:09 AM
The connection of Bachmann DC power pack just gives you a separate unit, not an additional one, to control a DC locomotive. When a Bachmann DC power pack is properly connected to the E-Z Command Control Center address 10 automatically converts  from its original DC (analog) assignment to DCC (digital) address.

The DC locomotive is still being powered by a modified AC waveform from the DCC E-Z Command Control Center not DC voltage from the DC power pack.

I do not have convenient access to a Bachmann Specrtrum On30 Heisler with Sound Module installed to test the following but if you want directional lights and dynamo sound then ---

Assuming All CVs are equal their factory default value except for address
CV 33 = 17
CV 34 = 18
CV 133 = 32

Note   -  Function Swapping is  activated as CV 30 = 4 is factory default. Thus F5 is mapped with CV 43 and it remains CV 43 = 1, which is default value.

Somewhat of an aside --

Terry Toenges,

When using Bachmann E-Z Track, the geometry of the track used to build a track plan does not need to be exact to have a useable track plan.

Example - The pieces needed in,34084.msg251455.html#msg251455 track plan for exact fit to me are a waste of money.

43  Discussion Boards / HO / Re: Spectrum SY sound on: November 12, 2017, 04:48:27 PM
The cadence of the exhaust chuff to match the locomotive driver wheel rotation is set by DCC CV, which one(s) depends on the sound decoder. If you are using DC have someone with a DCC system capable of programming CVs to turn exhaust chuff sound or all the sounds off. Or you can remove the sound decoder and replace with dummy plug(s) or hardwire as required.

The decoder installed can be identified using the value in CV 7 and CV 8.

44  Discussion Boards / On30 / Re: Heisler LIghts on: November 12, 2017, 04:00:40 PM
The Bachmann On30 Heisler appropriately does not come with directional lighting enabled. The lamps on the model appear to be carbide-fueled type. Directional lighting would require the crew to go back and forth extinguishing and igniting the lamps every time the direction of the locomotive changed.  Thus once ignited lamps would remain lit.

Back to your original question --- May be you can just use9-pin connector and control auxiliary lights with DCC decoder. You need to ask the locomotive manufacturer technical support  for pin out info for the light PCB on board 9-pin connector.

More general and detail decoder info using 9-pin connector…
