I went to harbor freight and got their inexpensive digital caliper. I then measured each plastic wheel then got the same size metal wheel. quick and simple. it works for me

this question is for anyone who has this engine or the Bachmann guy.  I purchased this loco a couple weeks ago. I lubed it and while test running it , I keep hearing a clicking sound like those moving side bars or the counter balance they are connected too. could they be hitting the track or Huh??   has anyone else had to this problem. if so what was your cure.

Bachmann man, how long is the warranty on new engines??

I used a dh165IP in my S4. the next I am going to try to install sound.  the clearance between the shell and the frame is pretty tight so it take some work figuring which one to use

13  Discussion Boards / HO / Re: Wiring help needed ASAP on: December 11, 2017, 09:39:31 PM
I have somewhat the same problem with my Bachmann 4-6-2 except I only had to work with the 2 wire connector. I am going to say that if Bachmann follows their normal wiring the 2 wire connector is the rail pickups. one for the left rail and one for the right rail. hope this helps
14  Discussion Boards / HO / black drivers on locos on: November 28, 2017, 04:10:11 AM
I don't know if anyone else has this problem. but when I get a new engine from Bachmann its wheels come black or blackened. i try to remove this but it does come off because when i try to operate the engine it seems to operate jerky or needs nudging to get it to move. anyone have any ideas to get this compound off of the wheels so as to get a better electrical connection. and yes i have cleaned my tracks with bright boy and alcohol.
