I forgot about that post in page 17. Thanks for reminding me, Terence.

Are you worried that Hiro's longer length would require too much detail for his model? Bachmann has made a few inaccuracies with their engines in the past, including three of their first models made. They've also dealt with having more details than usual with some engines like Oliver, but it must've been a little easier with him because of his smaller length. Skarloey has tons of detail too and he's shorter than Oliver.

You're welcome Falcon.

Yes, that is it for the most part. The main point is that if Bachmann decides to make Hiro, the tooling costs would be so expensive to the point where there would not be enough money to invest in other products with great economic potential such as resin buildings and large scale red coaches. Take his side rods for example. A lot of money of money would have to go into that, and I'm sure that the price of medal has gotten incredibly expensive, which is why Bachmann has been using plastic for Rosie, Skarloey, and Rheneas. In stark contrast, Daisy will not need metal side rods and her overall shape is box.
She's an incredibly popular character among fans young and old, and deserves much more merchandise.

Now, I really apologize for taking up so much space on this thread due to the countless times I have elaborated on Daisy. I'm going to try to make sure that this is the last time I do it.

I can see some very good points provided. It might be safe to assume that while he has a chance of being made, we should not really expect it anytime soon. I never really said that I'd want to see him so soon either, I only brought him up to see if he would be possible to make.

I've been hoping for Daisy to be made as well and she'd be a very safe bet for future announcements.

Stanley has had very minimal speaking roles, and his sales would be very minimal compared to Daisy, but he is a tank engine.

I can't really say anything else about Daisy without rehashing what I've already said before.
His speaking roles truly seem to make him less possible. Then again, Bill & Ben made it in the range while they were not in the show and they were tank engines too.

Do you have anything to say about Hiro? He might have been covered before, but I feel like he'd be worth mentioning again. Since he's had a couple of episodes that he's starred in, he would seem more likely. Stanley is still yet to get an episode of his own.

I'd actually like to see Bachmann release an HO-Scale model of Stanley sometime in the near future.
I actually thought about mentioning Stanley, but since he hasn't had many speaking roles, I'm not sure if he'd be able to appear in the future...  Undecided

Hiro would be a good candidate, though. He might be a little complicated to make, but he's had more speaking roles in the show than Stanley.

Excellent gift! I myself hope I can get Oliver for my next birthday too.  Smiley

I highly doubt HO Scale Edward and Henry will get discontinued, since their sales are still strong. Bachmann discontinues products that don't sell, like Salty.

Good to know that Edward & Henry are still selling. That means I can take as much time as I'd like in getting both of them, especially if I plan to get a couple of other characters before them. Hopefully, my train shop can hold Henry for a while and maybe order Edward as well.

Even I'd be tempted to get Bill and Ben if they're released.

I have a generally low budget with buying HO Scale models, but I really hope I can get Edward and Henry someday. Both of them have been pretty popular models and they've been on sale for a very long time, so I should have the chance to get both them for a while. I'm lucky enough to have a nearby train shop that has Henry, but sadly no Edward.

Bill and Ben have been getting popular with Large Scale fans, so they might be able to come as well! Smiley

I don't think I can add much to the Large Scale discussion, it's not a range I collect, I would say though, I would like to see Mavis or Edward as the next engines released...but I don't see either of them happening - especially Edward, unfortunately. I do feel like the Red Coaches would be a good option for the next rolling stock they release into that range. But since I don't collect the range, my opinion can probably be taken with a grain of salt.

I really hope they can make Mavis before the range is discontinued. She could easily re-use Toby's chassis and a Large Scale model of Mavis could give her a solid re-introduction in the current Thomas merchandise market. Mavis hasn't had any new merchandise in years...

I can also strongly agree on the note of Edward. As much as I'd like to see him added, James and Emily might go down as the only tender engines made in the range. I can see brand-new merchandise for Edward and Henry slowing down rapidly in the coming months. Part of me wants to buy a spare Wooden Railway Henry before he's off store shelves...  Undecided

I might end up getting Hornby's Percy in the long run since he's gotten easier to find online and his 2015 model has a near-perfect tooling. I'm not sure if Hornby models can be operated by Bachmann controllers, but I do know that HO Scale and OO Scale use the same track type. Hopefully, he won't be too big.
I do own the older model of Percy, which to my knowledge is just a different colour with little-to-no tooling differences to the 2015 Hornby one. The model of Percy I had does look oversized next to a Bachmann Thomas (he's a little taller and is longer than Bachmann Thomas), the motor runs way too fast, and is a little too light for its own good. He threw himself off the tracks once when I tried to find his top-speed. Also the valve gear is...basic, when compared to Bachmann's model. I will say it has positives. But we are discouraged from comparing Bachmann products to those of other companies on this board, as they don't have representatives that can respond adequately. Also Hornby engines will run fine on Bachmann controllers Smiley

I'll happily remove this post if anyone considers it to cross any lines.

~Alex

I'm still a relatively new member to the forum, so I was unaware of that rule. I apologize for bringing up the comparison without permission. Lips Sealed

I might have needed this post since not too many people go in-depth on either Percy model. I generally don't put model trains at top speed, but I'll still be careful with him. I know there are a fair amount of flaws with Hornby Percy, though I have seen a few people own broken Bachmann Percy models and if I try to find his HO version online, I mostly end up seeing his Large Scale version for sale (which is a good option, but it needs a lot of money).
Since I kinda dislike the Thomas model and the rest of the cast is hard to buy, Percy might end up being the only Hornby model I get from their Thomas range. I've always preferred Bachmann's lineup over Hornby's, especially since they're the first to make Mavis and Donald & Douglas. Smiley

I hope everyone else on the forum can respect my decision. If not, I can remove my posts relating to it and everything will be fine.

Out of the three original models, Percy needs it the most, since his tooling has a lot of problems. The fact that James and Percy haven't been in stock for ages does sound suspicious, but remember, in order for Bachmann to update a product, it has to be approved by Mattel. I still wouldn't expect it happening, since Thomas' HO model was quite unchanged, but we'll have to wait and see. Revisions to products happen unannounced. For example: Oil Tanker and Mail Car, but those were rolling stock. It's still unlikely redesigns would ever happen, since fans have wanted them for many years, and they still never happened. Maybe Mattel will allow it, but I don't know. It's really uncertain. Don't get your hopes up.

I won't really get my hopes up at all. I would still accept any announcement they have in relation, but I won't expect anything for the next two years.

If Toby's out of the main cast, I'll need to buy him sooner than later...  Undecided

A Large Scale Salty wouldn't be a bad idea since his size is acceptable for the range and he's had plenty of roles in recent CGI seasons, but it might never happen since his poor-selling HO model has been discontinued for quite some time. At the end of the day, I'd rather see Mavis in the Large Scale lineup even though she hasn't had as much representation, but I'd accept the idea of a Large Scale Salty if Bachmann ever announces him.

I've owned my James model for a very long time and while I'm a big fan of him, I'm not sure if it would be worth buying a repaint of a character that is already owned. Nonetheless, I'd be open for seeing a redesign of him or Percy. If I had to choose one over the other, it would be Percy since he's been needing many updates to his design.

Bulgy would be a pretty nice idea! He's only appeared once in the CGI series so far, but his boxy shape makes him easy to make and he'd complete the list of major Season 3 newcomers (minus Flying Scotsman).

I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer for Trevor. The Bachmann team might need a fair amount of time to give him the perfect tooling.

Part of me hopes that Jack can be made in the lineup of road vehicles, but he might need to come after Bulgy and Trevor are released first.

These vans look pretty awesome! I really need to get more HO rolling stock, so I hope to get these two when I have the time.  Smiley

Kids of this generation don't even know who BoCo is either......  Cry

And it's sadly the same case with Duke. I would be up for a model of him, but I doubt it can happen at any point in time.  Undecided
