In order to help we need more information.

Which locomotives do you have?  Do you plan to have an indoor or outdoor layout?  Will both trains be running on the same loop with passing tracks or most of the time on separate loops?  How much experience do you have making changes to model locomotives?

What is a reasonable amount of money for you to spend?  Do you have other Large Scale modelers in you area that might come over to run their trains?  What do they use?

If you are buying one of the new 2 truck Shays, they come with the conversion couplers.

Two of us in the area I live have tried to get to the page both yesterday and today.  We also just tried to get to the main estore page and have not been able to get in.  We are both on the same ISP and had no problems getting to download last years catalog.

Are we the only ones having the problem?

Has anyone that uses Cadrail created a Library file for the N Scale E-Z Track?

I have been trying to help the San Antonio Zoo with a loop of 3 rail 'O' that some one talked them in to for the Depot / souvenir shop where you catch the 'train ride' they have.

We have a new transformer that has made a big difference in the running of the train.  I donated it to them.

The loop runs at about 8 ft from the floor around the inside of the building.  The loop is about 20 Ft by 50 Ft.  It is not easy to get to the track to clean it.  One of the people that works there cleans the rollers on the locomotive and tender plus checks the wheels on them and the cars at least once a week.

They need a reasonable cost reliable Track Cleaning Car the the person could put behind the train and run it around several times rather then having to get a ladder and spend time hand cleaning the track.

These people are not model railroaders, they are shop employees.  They need a commercial track cleaning car that they can get replacement cleaning pads.  I do not wish to become a vendor.  I like being retired.

Any help would be appreciated.

One of the other people in our N Scale Club uses XTrackCAD and I use CADRail.  On some published plans both are right on, some both are not, and some one is right on and one is not.

The accuracy of the track library, the settings you have set for the software, and the accuracy of the original published plan all have to  match.  The number of items that could cause the problem is endless.

Use the software and the published plans as a 'guide', there will always be some small adjustments that you will make.

Everyone has their favorite software, everyone has their favorite 'track plan book'.  You may just need time to get used to the way the program works, or you may find another program that better works for you.

NCE on their Power Pro line of boosters allows you to adjust the output voltage.

Over the years I have changed my Primary Scale many times.  I started in HO.  Added and dropped TT.  At one time I had matching ore trains in HO, O and N.  Dropped the HO and N, stayed with O and played a little in S.  Started Large Scale, dropped the O and S.  Have added Z Scale while keeping Large Scale as my primary.  Have had standard gauge, narrow gauge, and some traction /trolleys over the years.

All of the scales have there strong points.  HO has at the present time the largest number of modelers and the lowest cost for the space.

I enjoy Large scale because at train shows the kids can see the trains and enjoy them without have to be lifted up.  I run them on the floor on simple loops.  The larger speaker space in Large Scale makes for great sound.

As long as your having fun with Model Railroading, that's all that counts!

At least 3 companies make DCC compatible wireless items that use battery power:

Tony's has several pages of information about them:

If you are just looking for wireless cabs and track power all the major DCC manufactures can so that.
