Anybody know anything about that 2-6-2 on page 12?  It looks like it might have more than one generator.

The Santa Fe got 3 when the took over the ORIENT IN 1929. One was scrapped with in a year, The other two had oil tenders and lasted about 5 years.  They got 5 basically modernized and soup-up "Russian" that where nice looking and lasted until 1954-55

They were installing  welded rail. So every half mile or so they need to have a joint. rail expand and contract.

It is mantua, 6 volts would date it back in the 1930s.

TRainman203, You are not 90 years old.  You don't have and I don't have powered switch controls.  At 90  he may not move around that well.  If he wants to have power switch mach. more power to him.

pictures are pictures, but it would be more meaningful if you know what the picture is to add that information.  My guess is that the ten Milw. locomotives are on their last trip.  New locomotives they remove the main road, juck locomotive they just cut the piston rod.

The GETTYSBURG RAILROAD locomotive should not have been operated.  If you can't see how much water you have, you don't operate.

Well the list I saw was 48 in the U.S.  Many of the locomotives in the U.S. also had the lead fusible plugs.  I am sure that 48 was a little low.

Each locomotive has a decoder.

trainman, you were about like me.  When I loved in NJ on the NJC branch ran three trains a day. One mixed freight, a coal run, and a local.  All I knew was the that the first train had a helper.  All of which were big engines. the local had a small engine.  After moving to Okla. I began to learn what locomotives were what.  The big locomotives on the CNJ were 2-8-2s while the small locomotive was a 4-8-0 CB.   The train with the helper had mixed loads and empties, while the coal run was all empties.

Santa fe had some nice 2-10-0s That I think it has the same wheelbase is the same as the Russian, but it is American.   A non usra 0-6-0 & 0-8-0

It will not run unless connected to the tender. Since there is no horn or whistle, what do the two sets of connecting wires do?  Unless I overlooked this question, it was not answered. This locomotive is DCC ready.  There nothing is connected to the motor unless the tender is connected.  wires from the locomotive go back to a pc board in the tender and from there they go to the motor, headlight, backup light, and ect.
