Without getting into personal preferences as to decoder choice - the 44915 decoder will work in this locomotive.

We don't have a wiring diagram readily available. That being said if you give the service department a call they can help trace the wires for you while we work on getting the diagrams.

Give the Bachmann Service Department a call during normal operating hours. They will be happy to help.
19  Discussion Boards / General Discussion / Re: how can i convert a HO BNSF from DC to DCC? on: October 08, 2017, 03:01:54 PM
The first thing to do is remove the body shell and look to see if there is a removable 8 pin plug on the circuit board. If these is a plug you can remove it and plug in an NMRA compliant DCC decoder. If you install a sound decoder you will also need to install a speaker somewhere in the loco and connect it to the decoder. If there is no removable plug on the PCB you need to trace the wiring and "hardwire" in a decoder. Check out this link if this is the case:,27726.0.html

Sounds like perhaps a loose wire connection on the circuit board. You can take the tender shell off and check for any loose connections or call the Bachmann service department who will be glad to help.

These items are no longer in the Bachmann Catalog but may still be available from retailers. A google search may turn up dealers who still have them in stock.
22  Discussion Boards / General Discussion / Re: Coupler removal help on: October 06, 2017, 10:00:06 AM
It sounds like it has a snap on cover over the coupler. If so you should be able to lift the sides of the cover and it should pop off.

Sorry - Bachmann does not sell packaging materials separately.
24  Discussion Boards / E-Z App / Re: How many locomotives can be controlled by ez app on: October 04, 2017, 09:41:47 AM
Your smart device is able to pair with a certain amount of items. This should be in the range of around 60 items. There are various ways to toggle between locos via the home screen, loco cab screen, etc...

Check your connection to the internet. Is the WiFi or wireless connected to the internet?

When you press the address and stop button try pressing down the address (3) and hold it down - then press the stop button while you are still holding down the address button. Then release them at the same time.
