Thanks!  I have done that, but will try it once more. Cheers!
2  Discussion Boards / N / 70 TON Loco w/DCC on: January 21, 2013, 08:32:27 PM
Greetings!

I've had this loco for about 6 months and it doesn't want to break in. Each time I run it, I have to mother it around the track for 5 mins to get it going. Slow speed running is not very good. It's like the motor is just stiff and won't loosen up.

Any ideas?

Thanks !

Hey there Bach-man,

What DCC decoder works best and is easiest to install in this loco? Also, can you point me to installation instructions for installation for your suggested decoder?

Thanks!

Go to http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/

Dave and his wife will provide a great product, easy to use, phone counseling on how to use their products, support after the sale, easy on the wallet prices, and quick shipping. I have their LEDs all over my layout and they never fail, and work with the transformer they provide, or track power [if you buy the right type].

I use their flashers and stock 5mm white lights on my scratch built coal tipple.

Hi Bach-man,

Here's some irony for you....
The kit I purchased at my LHS [mentioned above] had 2 C/D walls instead of 1 A/B and 1 C/D wall. I put in a request just now for Service to send me the correct wall....This kitbash has become one of my more interesting MRR sagas.

Cheers!

HERE'S AN UPDATE:

Bachmann replaced the whole kit. Great response to a small issue. It continues to reinforce why I have Plasticville models on my layout.  Thank you!

That's okay Bach-man,

Last night I went to my LHS, New York Central Toys & Trains in Mishawaka IN, and Jay & Len hooked me up with the complete kit for a great price; I'm good for now and have pieces left over for the next kitbash.

FYI...I was going to upload a picture of what I'm using the kit for, but it said the repository is full

Cheers!

Interesting suggestion Bach-Man,

I got this from service....

We do not sell to the public and we would not sell even at a discount a damaged item.

Hi Bach-man,

Can I buy pieces from this kit? If so, how?

My best tools are a sharp serrated knife about 10 inches long, and an Ace hardware Pocket Plane.

11  Discussion Boards / Williams by Bachmann / Lionel Electric Railroad Upgrades for Wiliams by Bachmann Locos on: October 22, 2010, 09:07:48 AM
With the latest round of high prices from Lionel, and the fact that I'm already running a Bachmann On30 segment on my railroad, I'm considering the possibility of using the ERR TMCC upgrades on the Williams by Bachmann SD90 engines. I model the NS and it's heritage lines and Bachmann seems to have a lot of NS stock available for purchase at reasonable prices compared to Lionel. The O scale portion of my railroad is all Lionel Legacy or TMCC at this point.

Has anyone ever installed a Electric Railroad TMCC upgrade [and railsounds] in a Bachmann O scale loco?

Hey Bach Man  ;0)

What are the dimensions of this trestle? I need to know how many to buy to get across a 48" divide.

Thanks!

FYI....Evans Designs sells a ton of LEDs [flashing and static]. I've put them in the water tower [slow flashing red] and the coaling tower [small flashing yellow]

Huh?  eBay is no deal for track; at least not for Lionel fastrack. By the time you add their freight charges you're above retail in many cases. I've found a number of better resources such as wholesaletrains.com and modeltrainstuff.com.

My local dealer gives 20% off every day on Lionel track, and I bought my On30 track from him too at a discount.  Try 'em....Google "New York Central Toys and Trains"...good guys!

Slow set CA for nearly everything except trees and ground cover [I use matte medium concentrate from Scenic Express-diluted of course]. MicroMark has a nifty gluing jig...
