My 2-4-4-2's and 2-6-6-2's have a standard toolbox on the front.
You can tighten the wires inside the tender.

The only difference between H0 and 0n30 is the tye spacing.
The rest is exactly the same.

People in general have no clue what the model rail road hobby entails.
Usually you get the remark; "O, you play with little trains."
The other day someone gave me a stand alone model of a French train in totally the wrong scale......
When you tell them you run American narrow gauge , the light switches off, as we say in Holland.

Best wishes to everybody from the Netherlands.

It sounds like you have a bit of trouble with friction in the wheel bearings of the cars.
A tiny little bit of oil might do the trick.

Nice job.
The only thing i am missing is calcification around valves and water intakes.

307  Discussion Boards / HO / Re: spectrum cv values on: December 31, 2016, 09:22:13 AM
I mostly use Tsunami's in my 0n30 fleet.
A mayor shortcoming is the lack of CV5.
If I want to run in scale speeds i am always in the low range of my controller. under 10 o'clock

Could be oxidation on the pickups and wheels.
A medium speed should be fast enough in my opinion.
Let it run for a while , i would say, half an hour to start with.

aren't you forgetting +64 for dynamo in CV 33 and 34?

310  Discussion Boards / On30 / Re: on30 heisler on: December 21, 2016, 06:35:27 PM
according to the generic Tsunami steam manual program the following.

F0(f) CV33 = 65
F0(r) CV34 = 66

It's not only this brand.
A train-friend of mine had a total meltdown of the complete smokebox from a BLI cabforward.
The replacement did exactly the same.

312  Discussion Boards / HO / Re: Advanced Tech Question 4-8-2 C&O DC Motor Test on: December 17, 2016, 06:26:21 PM
If you test the motor on max 12V DC you won't fry it.
What could be a problem in my experience is if you have a tree pole motor.
They don't run well on DCC.
Nowadays the most motors are five pole and run smoother on DCC and Dc for that matter.

313  Discussion Boards / On30 / Re: How steep a grade is reasonable for most On30 locomotives on: December 17, 2016, 06:18:36 PM
Depends on how much load you are pulling.
My max is 4%.

314  Discussion Boards / On30 / Re: Freight train on the Darjeeling Railway on: December 17, 2016, 03:11:34 PM
I didn't know that.
Doesn't take away that standard gauge is standard gauge.
You rightly say Indian standard gauge.
So it actually should be called broad gauge.

315  Discussion Boards / On30 / Re: Freight train on the Darjeeling Railway on: December 17, 2016, 11:14:48 AM
Standard gauge is what is says, standard gauge. (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in)
Otherwise it wouldn't be called standard gauge but something else.
The Darjeeling is 2ft gauge.
