Is there a difference in the 4-8-4 HO Northern from the white yellow square box loco to the long white narrow loco boxed one?

Is one older than the other? Any difference in quality or motors, etc?

Just curious...

Dear FWD,
The newest version, in a long blue box, is by far the best.
Have fun!

What about the 2 I asked about? Which one is the older version?

Is there any differance in the 2?

I don't know for sure that either was older than the other - both might've been out at the same time.  Seems the 'with smoke only' (no headlight) version was what I've seen in the long white boxes, whereas the smoke and lighted version was in the shorter white/yellow box.

Either way, with the new release of the updated version just a few months ago, there's no point in bothering with it.  The new version leaves the old ones in the dust.

Dear FWD,
That was my point as well. The loco came in many boxes over the years, and it's hard to tell which of the two you mention is older. I'd still suggest getting the new one.

Any chance on adding the HO CB&Q 4-8-4 in the newer version?

Thats the one I have now and would love a newer version in that road name.

thanks,

Mark

Dear FWD,
No announcement yet to that effect, but I'll pass along your request.
Have fun!

Well you can call it a CB&Q, but it will never be anything like a CB&Q other than they are both 4-8-4s

FWDGUY

I know, but it would be nice for Bachmann to bring back or update a newer version of the HO scale CB&Q 4-8-4. Its one nice locomotive.

Thanks and hope to see one coiming soon from Bachmann.
