Info from the Trains Magazine news wire.

Norfolk Southern recently announced they will be making 18 heritage units, all painted in the predecessor railroads that make up NS today, to mark their 30th anniversary (1982). im sure they will do a great job on the paint jobs,, it will be nice to see whos gets the first paints jobs off there assembly lines, MTH, ATHEARN ,  they both do the SD70
it would be great to see a new york  central unit not a fantasy roadname
hope these real units pass around the new york city area,

lionel already has ns heritage sd70ace's and they are beautiful.

the irony is that the previous heritage unit, gp59 4610 in southern paint, was just repainted to ns a couple of months ago after being in green since it was built in 1989.

for those who visit altoona, the sd70ace's are common on coal trains on the pittsburgh division.

Intermountain makes a Conriail Gevo in HO scale, but not as a heritage unit. I find it quite pointless  ;D
