Yeah same, it's just me though and I am doing my favorite sets from seasons 1-7 plus narrow gauge (only seasons 4-5) but I want the big goods yard in season 2, knapford, Gordon's hill etc. It will be years of work but great fun. What I was hoping is a way to bring all he seasons sets together, for seasons that have different sets of the same places like wells worth for example, I will just choose my favorite look for it. But I do hope to have almost everything modeled.

If you have a Skype you could PM me your username and we could talk when you can.
All I want is, Stepney, Boco, Harvey.

pm sent. :)

Right now i am just starting to work on the body for diesel 10, gluing the bits back together, and any gaps i find will be filled in with 'Squadron Products' white putty, this stuff is good for all kinds of modelling.

I am building a replica of Sodor too!  :D  As seen in my two layout updates (Tidmouth sheds and Henry's tunnel), I've already started!   ;D

Sounds great mate!  ;D

Can't wait to see how all these projects turn out, as for Diesel 10, I'll post new updated photos a little later. So far, he is starting to take shape, I've filled in the gaps with model filler from where the body was cut in half and glued back together.
The chassis has been rebuilt and glued together, just needs weight in it now, which i will sort with Deluxe Materials 'Liquid Gravity'.

One thing I thought would always be problematic when making Diesel 10 would be cutting and resizing the chassis (due to all the electrics and working parts etc). But from those photos you uploaded earlier (and from the sounds of it) it seems you have done it like it was nothing at all--Can't wait to see more photos!

Cool! Juy wondering? How do you plan on making the claw? Just wondering. My goal in fact is not to make the original Sodor but a small town with a main rail line passing through. It helps with ideas for stories. Can't wait to see more ;)

Thanks guys.

I'm getting help once again from my friend, Skarloeyfan, with the design of the claw, it will be made from styrene sheets like the Harvey model was, and hopefully will be moveable. ;)

I've now got both the CGI and Magic Railroad faces from the Trackmaster models of Diesel 10, so it looks as though they will be interchangeable for different episodes, once he is fully finished, but more progress pics will be posted via the blog and this board.

Thank you all for your kindness and positive feedback so far, it's nice to know there are some modellers out there, who appreciate what people like me can do, and i hope to continue modelling for as long as it takes. :)

Something really good for the claw if it is to scale, as I think it is, is the claw off the BANDAI Diesel 10. What do you think?

  I don't know tj219??

I think that the bandai is kinda plasticy when his model appears different than the plastic used in the bandai.

Otherwise, who knows? That might be a good idea.

I built this car a while ago, but thought I would share it here. Two events brought this about. First, finding one of my son's old toys (a Tidmouth Milk wagon) and realizing it might make a good model, and a friend giving me an old Airfix Esso tank car kit - without the tank (he wanted the tank for another project).
I had to shorten the chassis of the Airfix kit to fit the toy tank. The tank is about the same length as the Bachmann tank, but smaller in diameter - but since the chassis sits higher, the net result is negligible. I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out.

I also used some Bachmann wheel sets - the ones that came with the kit were pretty bad. You may notice that I am also using Kadee couplers - I find they are a lot more reliable than any other style.
The only thing I was disappointed with was the mold line across the middle of the tank. To be honest, it didn't become apparent until after I applied the weathering.

That is very impressive RW James, i like how it looks compared to the bachmann version. :)
