I love how I started the trend of making a warship diesel to match diesel 10's length, I've seen and heard that like 7 people have gotten the inspiration from me I'm glad to know that my ideas spread makes meh feel special :p :3
You don't know how big headed that makes you sound...
Looking good Stepney! Cannot wait to see you progress with this! Any chance of Dodge, Splatter and Lady afterwards?  ;D

Splatter and Dodge are being considered, and Lady is a definite yes. :)

pretty sure you weren't the one who started that, I'm sure other people have also had the idea, but since its a little trivial and a given, they probably didn't bring it up...

The Warship is the model he is based on so....
All I want is, Stepney, Boco, Harvey.

um.. people have been making models of Diesel 10 since the movie came out in 2002..

Nobody gave me the inspiration to make him shorter, i decided to model him accurately, from working with tv and movie screen captures, so.. it wasn't actually yours or anyone's idea to make him.

Your Diesel 10 looks great so far, Stepney!
Thomas will always be my Number 1 favorite tank engine!

Thanks guys, really do appreciate all your feedback, and as a surprise, alongside Diesel 10, someone else is currently being made in between, a character who was in the series, who was introduced in 2003. :)

Won't give out anymore hints till nearer completion, but some of you might know who it is i am talking about, but don't say it out loud though, i am sure that he will be a truly good model once finished.

Looking good, Stepney. I especially like the fact that you cut out the front of the model to fit the face in--I think (in all TTTE model projects) it really improves how the face looks on the model, like it belongs, as opposed to being blue-tacked straight onto the front of the model, often dangling or sticking out too far from the model. The claw is looking good, too.

I have a question to ask, though. Today I received a Triang Class 101 DMU Twin Car Set in the mail, which I plan to use for a Daisy project, inspired by your own. I've got the project planned up until the detailing stage, however I'm not sure where to get the detailing parts, such as handrails, as well as the front and back lamps. Remembering back to your Daisy project, can you remember where you got these parts from, what company made them, and the product names/numbers? Even if you can't remember perfectly, any pointers will help greatly!

Thanks,
JWR3001

The handrails were made using Albion Alloys thin wire and Markits handrail knobs, the lining by pressfix transfers and the lamps came from a Bachmann Percy which i had laying around.

Hope this helps, also, I've got updates on Diesel 10's progress.

He is now primed and setting nicely, the claw mechanism is done, but i think it will remain static, i tried making it moveable, but it proved to be a bit hectic, it moves slightly, but not as much as i had hoped, but never mind. :)

Thanks alot for the pointers, Stepney, they'll really help me in my project. The only question it raises is, wouldn't you have to have had 3-4 Bachmann Percy models just to get all the lamps you needed for your project?

Anyway, I'll be starting that project soon--You don't mind if I upload pics on this thread, do you?

Oh and don't worry so much about Pinchy--I haven't attempted a Diesel 10 build myself, but I'm sure it can't be easy to both design the claw and construct it to move--Better to just do what you can and perhaps sometime in the future you can come back to it & improve on it.

Also joined your forum, BTW.

You're most welcome mate, and yes, please do post photos up, this also applies to everyone here too, this isn't just for my works i am doing, EVERYONE can post their works in progress and other model creations in this thread, and i am sure we can all help to improve one another's works as well. :D

EDIT POST: Here are the completed photos of Diesel 10.

Diesel 10, now finished. :)

With his CGI face too.

Although the claw doesn't move around like in the movies, it does open and close, i think it looks better static myself. :)

Whoa. That is, I'm going to quote here, "~Simply Epic~".   ::) :D :)
EDIT: The classic face suits him, but the CGI face seems to fit better. All this talk of modeling is really making me want to start on G.Ruffy!
