I recently purchased a Williams/Bachmann o gauge GP9 locomotive and am  running it with a Lionel 80 watt transformer.   At  first the whistle can hardly be heard, however,   after about 10 - 15 minutes and pushing the button , at intervals, several times it becomes louder and seems about correct    After a few more minutes it becomes very loud .    Let it sit for a few hours and it starts all over again with a low sound.    The tracks  were purchased last March and are the new Lionel fast track.     I have a steam type locomotive on which the whistle works just fine.    What, if anything , can be done?

Hi sarin,

Check out the posting "True Blast II problems", this may solve your problem.

                                 Hope this helps...671

Thank you 671.   I found a posting by pinzero, found the potentiometer, adjusted it and all is well.  SariN
