For the Spectrum HO Scale Train Maintenance Vehicle  DCC Ready Ballast Regulator 16947 can I use NMRA 8 Pin Plug decoder (44915). Is the vehicle equipped with an eight pin socket that will accommodate an eight pin DCC decoder.

The item comes with a diagram page and here is a link to the page with instructions.
Many times, not all, you can find the diagram at the Bachmann site. Take time to look around.

Just in case, I found this review in a Google search. This is NOT my review..

PROS
This ballast regulator is crafted with fine details. Separately applied hoses horns exhaust and track equipment. Both cabs have properly painted seats and floors and include smaller details like windshield wipers.

CONS
There are no working lights. Only painted on lights. There is room to add them in later if you chose.

MOTIVE POWER
Power comes from a single half inch diameter can motor connected to the front truck. Power pickups are on all four axels.

WEIGHT
If you decide you want to pull or push something keep in mind that the ballast regulator weighs just under 84g or 2.9oz. Keep loads under 100g or 3.5oz. Consider just one flat car or gondola car.

REPORTING MARK and ROAD NUMBERS
There are no road numbers, road names or other reporting marks which in this case is good as it will fit into any modern railroad and still look great.

DCC
This is DCC ready. Attach a decoder to the connector plates using the plastic clips provided in the package.

Here is a You Tube video of one puling a work car. That might be the limit depending on any grades.
