I was recently told , by a junior railroader, that adding a decoder with sound would compromise the pulling power in my Bachmann Spectrum 4-8-2. Is this true?
Thanks.

It hasn't bothered any of mine and I have both the light and heavy Spectrum.

I've heard that they actually pull more with Tsunami decoders. Apparently the new motor enhancing gives enough to pull 3-5 more cars.

Hoople,

That makes no sense, pulling power is not a motor issue, it is a weight/traction issue. All these motors are more than strong enough to pull way more cars than the traction allows.
