  Hi all
What I need is to fine out how long the Hartford K13 Ely-Thomas log car is? I plan on putting in a display case with the number 5 shay. Right now I have two LBG disconnect cars in the case with the engine. I also will using the link and pin couplers.

Thanks
Shayman

According to the Hartford site the Ely-Thomas log car is 20' in 1:20.3 scale.

You can do the math.

Here's the link to the Hartford site.

So are you saying the car is around 11" long, if so it will fit in the case.
That's if I did the math right. Anybody out there come up the same answer.
thanks

Closer to 12".
11.82", probably less couplers (or links).

To walk you through the process, we need to refer to the appropriate nmra RP.
Ignoring that, multiply 20X12, which will give you the total inches for 20 feet.
This becomes 20X12=240.
Divide by 20.3.

240divided by20.3=11.82".
That's .18 shy of 12".
.125" is 1/8", for reference.
Leave the links in, it's gonna be longer than 12".
But, since we all know my opinion is invalid, we will wait for others far more knowledgeable to chime in.

  Thanks to all
I had a brain freeze, but went on the NRMA site and found the conversion was .591 inches. That works out to .591 X 20' = 11.82 inches and that is close but workable.
Thanks again. I model in On30 scale mostly, but collect shays in different scales. Well to tell the truth jump around, been every scale except Z. I did thank about Nn3 gauge, but it was to small for me to handle. I do have a 3 rail system that run around the ceiling. Thanks from the foreman and me.
