hi, im new to the forum, but have collected
trains for years. My problem is on the 2 truck shay, part of the running gear is metal that fits into a plastic sleeve. They have slipped out of the sleeve and the angle is too steep to get them back together. I need some help because that beautiful engine is just sitting there collecting dust. thank you in advance for any advice anyone can give me.

Hi Bubkiss,

Welcome to the forum, lots of good info here.  I am assuming your shay is the large scale shay since you posted in the large scale forum.

On my two truck shay I am able to get the shaft back in the sleeve. It is a tight fit that is for sure.  Some report it is best to put down a towel or possibly the foam from the box your shay came in. Turn it upside down on the foam and turn the trucks(both of them)until you get the clearance you need to get things back together.

Best of luck getting thin  gs running again!!
