Acela express

Hi as a newbie to ho scale,I have just purchased a pre owned Acela Express train set  the set is complete except for the controller,it is dcc ready ,I would like to know how how to remove the body shell to fit a dcc decoder,is this a task I can do myself ,or is it a dealer job any help is welcome thanks jud
