PR4 /JMRI question?

Was thinking about stepping up and getting computerized with my railroad to do some programming the easy way with JMRI and decided to go with the Digitrax PR4 since the Dynamis system is not capable Yet to have a PC interface. Seems it is a good economical way to go. Anybody use the PR3 or the new PR4? If so .Does it have the ability to give full read back of what is set on the decoder with the interface ? I am looking for something that shows what is set and then go from there with the programming. I have not really found a answer through the manuals on how this actually works, Any ideas/ comments would be appreciated. Thanks,

Using Digitrax PR4 as a stand-alone programmer,
Short answer - depends
on the information in the decoder JMRI can use to indentify it
JMRI configuration file accuracy
PR4 cannot read or program some decoders
