I am trying to find out information about the HO 100 Ton Hopper cars in PRR with the Yellow Dot on the side.  I have a few of them but have no idea about when they were built or a part/catalog number.  The car numbers that I have are 230224, 230338, 230385 and 230481.  I have six total cars and was wondering how many were built by Bachmann of this particular PRR style. I know the details of the last two with part numbers 18714 and 18715.  Any information would be appreciated.

There's a brief history of these cars, and a list of kits they used to produce, over on a Bowser archive page:

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.

Those would be the PRR class H43 and sub classes. Sorry, I have no info on how many runs Bachmann made.

On the real ones, there was a variant of the yellow ball that I have never seen modelled. I called it "yellow donut" because the yellow ball had a black dot in the center. These were pretty common in the 1970s. I have no idea what the yellow donut signified if anything.
