Why would they make one?

Williams does not have a 2-8-0. If they were to introduce one it would need to be pretty generic, so it could be made in a  wide range of versions. Do the ET&WNC ones  fit this?

If, and its a big if, a Williams 2-8-0 was to be made, why wouldn't they use the existing HO and N scale model, only in O?
This would save some development costs.

Well, I thought when bachmann bought out Williams, I thought new and more realistic products would be coming out, I also thought there would be a new line of products.
Sorry for any confusion

I have not seen Bachmann state that they intend to introduce a new line of Williams products or new and more realistic models. Bachmann may well have purchased Williams only in order to gain a stake in the "traditional" 3 rail O scale market. There have been a number of posters on this board expressing the view that Bachmann should not take Williams in a new direction, that they should stick to the existing type of range. It is certainly not clear yet whether Bachmann  intend to take Williams, even  partially, in a different direction than Williams' current range.

If they did wish to include some " and more realistic products", and this was to include steam. I would expect that Bachmann iwould choose relatively generic prototypes, as they do in HO and N. I am not sure that the ET&WNC locos really fit this.

FWIW, the Weaver 2-8-0 is close to the ET locos.  I think you can still find them around.
