I am putting my first layout together and using a track plan that I got off line.  The problem is that when I am to put two of the easy track 9 inch track side by side connected to the turn out they overlap each other and will not fit.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a piece of track that I either need to modify or need to buy.  Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Pg,

Apparently you have to trim the roadbed of one or both tracks to make them fit.

The Bachmann or Terry Toenges will know more.

Hope this helps.

If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.

you may have to use tracks shorter  than 9" . The turnouts are usually shipped with  short pieces of tract with removable sections of grade that can cut off to fit adjoining track ,check out underside of track for molded in grooves. Hope that helps.   If all else fails a coping saw will be in order.
