I dont really understand the "code" system for track size. What size insulated joiners do I need for ho ez track?

Joe Satnik

Dear h,

Do a forum search on: code 100 83.

Atlas track item number 55.   24/pkg.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik
If your loco is too heavy to lift, you'd better be able to ride in, on or behind it.

The Atlas insulated joiner works for both Code 100 and Code 83.  The code is for the height of the rail in 100s of an inch.  The larger the number, the taller the rail.

Actually, I think Gene meant to say was rail height in 1000th's of an inch. It's easier to say code 83 rail than 83 thousandths high rail.

Short of rail heights:

Code55 = 0.055in
Code65 = 0.065in
Code70 = 0.070in
Code83 = 0.083in
Code100 = 0.100in

If at first you don't succeed, throw it in the spare parts box.
