I am considering wiring my E7 in series. I would really like to have the slower speeds. Right now it takes off very fast.
Has anyone done this with their WBB? Have you had any Problems?

Thanks.   -CandO

I did this with an F7. It will cruise at around 16 volts after instead of 6-8. I only recommend it if your transformer can put out in excess of 19 volts. If not, you won't get a good crusie speed. The best thing to do is buy a transformer that starts out at a lower voltage like the Z-1000. The Lionel KW is good with these.  I changed mine back to factory wiring because of the high voltage requirment to get a good top end.

I just wired it in series yesterday.
I am very happy with it.  I use a Lionel ZW, so it delivers the volts.

I like that the headlight burns brighter.  I can get a nice slow speed coming in and out of the depot.  The top speed it now has is perfect.

Thanks.

The older Lionel 133/44 transformers had two settings of the center rails.  One was one which started at O volts and had a lower higher end.  That might work.

Lionel MPC also made a version of the 1044.
